- Rosh
Hashanah & Yom Kippur:
See the calendar for our schedule of services. There is a brunch
on the second day of Rosh Hashanah following the service. Yom
Kippur worship is followed by the break-the-fast pot luck dinner.
Temple Israel appreciates and welcomes the presence and support
of those who join us to welcome the New Year. Information on a
special donation to the congregation for those who are not yet
members of Temple Israel who attend our High Holy Day services
can be found elsewhere on this website.
- Sukkot:
Sukkah decorating, service for all ages on the first night and
special prayers on the Shabbat during Sukkot.

Simchat Torah:
Our services features a “Torah roll-unroll” of the
books of Deuteronomy and Genesis and singing as we carry the Torahs
around the sanctuary!

Jewish Book Month:
Look for information about our annual book fair on the calendar
and in the Kesher newsletter!

Hanukkah Latke Party:
a fun and tasty party where we sing Chanukah songs, make latkes
& jelly donuts while children & adults take part in holiday
games and activities.

Tu Bish’vat Seder:
Congregants of all ages can join our Religious School for our
Tu Bish’vat Seder held on the Wednesday closest to Tu Bish’vat.
- Purim:
We do a brief Megillah Reading (wear a costume if you like) and
hold a Purim Carnival including games and crafts during the Religious
School session closest to Purim. There is also a study or social
program held on the eve or day of Purim.
- Passover
Seder:
So many of us living far away from family find comfort and joy
in the Temple’s own Seder led by the Rabbi. Good food &
friends join together to celebrate this special holiday in the
Temple’s social hall. This is typically a catered event.
No cooking required!

Shavuot:
We join together for a musical service and a festive holiday Oneg!
